FAQ - Mixed Martial Arts

What type of results can I get from the workouts?
If you follow the workouts and keep a positive mindset there are virtually no limits to your results. You can basically trade in your body for a new one if you like.
Some of the benefits Get Fit clients regularly report are increased muscle tone, fat loss, improved flexibility, more energy, mental toughness, a more efficient cardio-respiratory (heart and lungs) system, improved anaerobic (without oxygen) capacity, greater explosiveness, and increased muscular endurance.

What exactly is MMA?
MMA is currently one of the fasted growing sports in the world. The sport of MMA was originally created to pit athletes from different backgrounds against each other to see who would be dominant. Over time, new rules and regulations were implemented to create the exciting, relatively safe sport of MMA that we now have today.

Who should train for MMA?
Anyone who wants to improve both physically and mentally would benefit from training for MMA. The training is relatively safe and instills discipline and confidence in those who train. Young children can begin doing some of the movements which will increase their strength, endurance, and hand-eye coordination. Older individuals will also benefit. They will receive the same benefits and will also enjoy the mental stimulation that comes with training in various martial arts,

Do I need to be a member or a martial arts school or fight club?
Not at all! All are welcome.  Before you can attend your first class there is an “interview process” that will need to be conducted.  It is an informal meeting for both you and Get Fit to get to know one another and the reasons why and when you would like to start your training. This is a great opportunity for you to ask as many questions as you like.  It is important to us at Get Fit to learn more about you and your expectations when conducting you training.

Do I need to have experience in martial arts or self-defense?
At Get Fit you have several options.  There are one-on-one, beginners, experienced, elite and group classes.  So no matter what your level of fitness or expertise you will fit right in.

Are the trainers experienced?
Yes all Get Fit trainers have ample experience in several martial arts and at competition level. 

How long to the classes go for?
It will depend on your level of experience.  Generally the duration will be one hour (60 minutes) however once your fitness levels and experience improves the duration will extend.
